You might like the training option in the new DMG. And do not like to share it … but the book says otherwise. Lord Carelessfool November 26, my campaign wizards hoarding knowledge is the norm. The Arcane Trickster is a character type thats been around D&D for a long time, and its essentially a delicious mix of Rogue and Wizard that works together. Lord Carelessfool November 26, in my campaign wizards hoarding knowledge is the norm. I assume wizards do not give out spells free. The Arcane Trickster Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your wizard spells of 1st level and higher. In 5es bounded accuracy system, that +5 is huge. Jeremy Crawford November 26, I had a debate with my players as to access to any spell listed in the PHB. By versatile I mean having a toolkit to confront as much situations as possible. Am in a dispute with my DM – I say that the Eldritch Knight & Arcane Trickster do NOT need to use a spellbook – correct? As written, the Eldritch Knight and the Arcane Trickster don't use a spellbook.
